Greek Conference is an amazing experience. Last year Central Michigan had a small, but strong presence at conference. Most of our group had never gone to Greek Conference
before but we quickly learned that it is a blast! We learned a lot in our sessions and at large group but more importantly we got to mingle with greeks from other universities and were able to learn about their Greek IV chapters. We also learned many new things about each other. Well, what do expect from a road trip, kicking it in Indy, staying at the Marriott, and hanging out with loads of greeks from many different universities? If you guessed good times, great friendships, and personal revelations...you are correct!
Wait...what is Greek Conference?
InterVarsity's Greek Conference is a place where hundreds of Greeks gather for one weekend to discuss real-life issues: to be challenged and encouraged by other Greek students, to get practical tools for living in the Greek system and to learn what it means to integrate the Christian faith into your everyday Greek experience. Oh yeah, and we also want to have some fun!
Who is going?
Right now CMU greeks from Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Kappa, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Phi Mu, and Alpha Chi Omega are going. If you don't see your chapter here it can be a good thing because it may mean that there is an automatic scholarship waiting for you if you are the first person from your chapter to attend Greek Conference in the last five years. If you recruit 9 other brothers/sisters there is another scholarship available for you!
What is in it for me?
Would it be a Greek event if we didnt'? Of COURSE we have fun! In addition to the great fun you'll have interacting with other Greeks during meals and concentrations, we have some amazing things planned for you during our 'pre-game' and 'after hours' festivities. Wanna know what that entails? Check back for more clues, but think about a networking lounge set up by Greeks for Greeks, a dance party and more....
